Faculty of Law UMY Strengthens Academic Cooperation with Faculty of Law Istanbul University

On 4 December 2023, a delegation from the Faculty of Law at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) embarked on a significant academic visit to Istanbul University’s Faculty of Law. The Rectorate Council, led by Prof. Dr. Cemil KAYA as the Vice Rector, and Prof. Dr. İBRAHİM KAYA, along with the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Fethi GEDİKLİ, joined by the Faculty Board and Assoc. Prof. Mehmet MADEN enthusiastically welcomed this visit, marking a crucial milestone in fortifying the partnership between the two esteemed institutions. The visit served as a vibrant platform for collaboration, aiming to achieve several key objectives: fostering international research collaboration, promoting joint community service initiatives, and establishing a student exchange program.

The visit was marked by a series of impactful public lectures delivered by esteemed UMY representatives, each specializing in a distinct legal field. Assoc. Prof. Sunarno, an expert in agrarian and environmental law, enthralled the audience with his captivating presentation on Indonesian agrarian law. His comprehensive introduction to the subject, coupled with insightful comparisons across national, international, and Islamic perspectives, provided a valuable and multifaceted understanding of this complex legal domain.

Prof. Fadia Fitriyanti, a leading authority in alternative dispute resolution (ADR), engaged the audience with her insightful lecture on this crucial field.
