FH UMY attended a Joint Luncheon and Discussion Hosted IISL Onati, Spain
The elegant ambiance of Restaurante Torre Zumeltzegi in Onati, Spain, set the stage for a fruitful gathering between the Research Committee of the International Institute for the Sociology of Law and the Faculty of Law at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY). Esteemed guests graced the occasion, including Prof. Pierre Guibentif, President of the Scientific Committee at the International Institute for the Sociology of Law, Dr. Stefanie Lemke, Secretary Scientific Committee, Dr. Sabine Frerichs, Scientific Director of the International Institute for the Sociology of Law, and Assoc. Prof. Sunarno, Head of the Study Program of Law at UMY, Friday, March 8, 2024.
As the luncheon commenced, Prof. Pierre Guibentif took the floor to deliver a welcoming address. He expressed gratitude for the warm reception and highlighted the significance of international collaboration in advancing the field of sociology of law. Prof. Guibentif emphasized the potential for impactful research partnerships between the International Institute for the Sociology of Law and UMY.
Following Prof. Guibentif’s remarks, Prof. Iwan Satriawan, the Dean of the Faculty of Law at UMY, shared his thoughts. Prof. Satriawan expressed pleasure in being hosted by the International Institute for the Sociology of Law and reiterated UMY’s commitment to academic excellence and global partnerships. He emphasized the importance of fostering mutual understanding and collaboration in legal studies.
The luncheon continued with lively discussions, focusing on potential future collaborations and partnerships between the two institutions. Dr. Stefanie Lemke, Dr. Sabine Frerichs, and Assoc.
